Opala River Brown Bear Viewing Camp
The Opala River is a wilderness area with a dependable concentration of bears during late summer and early fall. Here we host 4-8 guests in an electric fenced compound with leave no trace camp accommodations in tents and with a large cooking and eating tent. Canadian guide and bear conservationist and consultant Reno Sommerhalder leads the group to view bears either along the river or on nearby tundra. Our camp is equipped with field toilets, a large kitchen and eating tent, and 2-person sleeping tents. The electric fence, powered by solar batteries with backup D-cell energizers will keep curious bears from entering the camp compound. Fly by MI-8 helicopter to/from the Opala River, about 55 minutes from Yelizovo.
